Improv
Comedy Classes with Chicken Lips! |
||||||||||||||
| Improv is a form of performance – and a way of thinking! – that encourages people to perform in new, unexpected and off-the-wall ways. Improv uses techniques that stimulate thinking on your feet, creativity, collaboration, and team invention. Improv also strengthens your trust in your own ideas, as you wildly invent spontaneous “shows” with other players. Chicken Lips has been performing and teaching improv in Denver since 1980 (that’s a quarter of a century!). Our instructors, Bob Wells, LuAnn Buckstein, and Dave Johnson, have over 60 years of improv between them. Level One Improv – Need an energy lift? Need to be more flexible and spontaneous? Need to raise your "laughter factor"? This is the perfect class for you! This course will let you experience the “Joy of Improv” through games, structures, and mind jolts. You will learn how the improv performer thinks, invents, listens, yields and cooperates – and how it feels to be completely outrageous. You will learn the "improv ropes," and you'll discover how improv can improve the world and make you a better person! Seriously. But in a funny way. We mean it. Your life will change. No doubt about it. Guaranteed. There
are currently no classes being offered. Please check back in the near
future to find a new class schedule. Bob Wells is president of the World Humor Organization, Inc., and Chicken Lips Entertainment in Denver. He is a director, actor, writer and teacher, and works with many performing arts groups including the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Central City Opera, Colorado Children’s Chorale and Littleton Town Hall Arts Center. Bob has been the director and a performer with Chicken Lips since its founding in 1980. LuAnn Buckstein is a founding performer with Plastered in Paris and with Scenic Overbite¸ two of Denver’s most popular improv groups. She continues to be a mainstay with Chicken Lips, and travels across the country as part of the training events and customized entertainment. She regularly works as a “creative thinking mentor” in the schools with her two children Emilia and Sam. Dave
Johnson is the principal writer and a performer for Chicken
Lips and for the World Humor Organization’s corporate entertainment
events. He has been with both organizations since 1993, and travels around
the world for training sessions and business entertainment. |
