“Murder
Most Fowl,” the long-running comedy-mystery
by Chicken Lips’ Bob Wells and John
Ashton, is available for private performances. This
is a fun show for your group because it contains lots of audience
participation and lots of references to your people!
“Murder Most
Fowl” takes place in the greenroom of
Denver’s Consortium Theater, where a production of “Macbeth”
is about to open. Late arrivals, disgruntled cast members and
first-night chaos lead to the discovery of the murder of leading-man
Robert Poulet (voiced by the late Denver theater critic Alan
Dumas). Conveniently, a homicide detective is at the
theater, and after she identifies the prime “persons-of-interest,”
she deputizes the evening’s audience, and the interrogation
begins!
“Murder Most
Fowl” opened in 1989 at the old Avenue
Theater, written by Ashton and Wells for the Chicken Lips’
company. The show was intended to play for four weeks, but the
audience-participation comedy caught on with Denver audiences,
and played non-stop for a full year. The show has continued
to play at theaters and for business conferences across the
country. Local, national and international people and events
are skewered throughout the mystery, and the audience becomes
the sixth member of the cast. |
